Nursery Apprentice (Three Year Duration) Join to apply for the Nursery Apprentice (Three Year Duration) role at Careers at Council. This fulltime, fixedterm apprenticeship is based at the beautiful Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden in Batemans Bay. It is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in horticulture, gaining handson experience and formal qualifications in nursery operations and plant conservation. You will undertake a CertificateIII in Nursery Operations through a registered training organisation, with training delivered via a mix of onthejob and offthejob learning and will involve travelling to Sydney to attend blockrelease training. The starting salary for this position is $1,391.57 plus 12% superannuation and is dependent on the age of the employee on commencement. You have a minimum Year10 level certificate or equivalent and a strong interest in plants and the environment, and are ready to commit to a rewarding apprenticeship. Ability to safely use and learn basic electrical and mechanical tools. Ability and willingness to work harmoniously in a team environment. Effective written and oral communication skills. Fitness and ability to complete physical labouring tasks. Commitment and ability to successfully complete the practical and theoretical components of the apprenticeship and ability and willingness to undertake additional training as required. What We Offer 35 hours per week for administrative staff and 38 hours per week for operational staff. Up to 3 days leave to cover Council closure at end of year period. 9 weeks Councilprovided paid maternity leave (conditional).
