Apply now to be part of our team.Job summary:Flexible hours availableLocation: Mooloolaba, QLD 4557Established fishing company working in the Australian Fishing Zones, catching predominantly crabs, seeks the following full-time fishing industry positions: Ships Master, Ships Engineer, Master Fisher, Ships Officer, Deckhands & Fishing Hands, Seafood Processors.This company maintains a drug & alcohol-free workplace; employees can be subject to random drug & alcohol testing. This is a condition of employment. You will be based in the above region but may be required to work in other locations subject to operational requirements.Roles and responsibilities: Ships Master Ships Engineer (Fishing) Master Fisher Ships Officer Fishing and Deckhands Seafood ProcessorsSuccessful candidates should ideally have at least 5 years of relevant experience in this industry sector for ranked positions. Sea time of less than 5 years may be considered subject to experience. Where required, you MUST hold the appropriate tickets or you will not be considered. Fishing and Deckhands should have no less than 1 year''s Australian work experience, preferably in catching and handling crab, evidenced by sea-time or log book. Verifiable letters of reference may also be acceptable.For all positions, you must provide verifiable references. You need to be strong as these positions involve working on a deck, often in heavy seas and sometimes in cramped spaces. Ranked positions may include managing fishing operations aboard your vessel in consultation with the company owners.You will be away from home for several days or occasionally weeks. Normally there is a short turnaround before returning to sea.Salary and benefitsFor successful candidates, salary or percentage of catch rate as per industry standards will be negotiated according to qualifications, skills, experience and performance. Annual salary ranges for full-time employees in the relevant roles are: Ships Master: $120,000+ per year (subject to negotiation) Ships Engineer (Fishing): $72,000 $82,000 Master Fisher: $75,000 $82,000 Ships Officer: $72,000 $82,000 Deck and Fishing Hands: $68,800 $78,000+ per yearAll roles include government-regulated superannuation guarantee.Seafood ProcessorsWe are also seeking highly experienced seafood process workers (full-time and seasonal). For Seafood Processor roles you should ideally have a minimum of 2 years experience with verifiable references. Duties may include:Unloading fresh seafood from vesselsMoving product to chillers, freezers and live tanksSorting, dressing and filleting fish with high recoverySorting, cleaning and retrieving meat from shellfish and crustaceansLoading seafood into trucks, packing and labelingInspecting and grading fish and shellfishOperating machines to slice, peel, skin, crumb and package productCleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areasEnsuring safety regulations are followedWagesThe salary for this full-time position is between $68,800 and in excess of $78,000 per year plus superannuation guarantee (as applicable).Application instructionsApplicants should mark clearly the position they are applying for and provide a short statement (minimum 150250 words) as to why they are best suited.
