Casual Chef We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our commercial kitchen in Cambridge on a casual basis.In this role, youll be part of a skilled and passionate team preparing high-quality products for Hill Street customers across Tasmania. Our kitchen produces a wide range of meals, ready-to-eat dishes, packaged and fresh food lines, working closely with our pastry, smallgoods, and butchery operations onsite.What youll bring:Formal cookery qualifications or equivalent industry experienceProven experience in food preparation and production, ideally in a high-volume commercial kitchenStrong technical cooking skills, with a focus on quality, flavour, and consistencyAttention to detail in presentation and portioningA love of working with food and people, with good communication skillsEnergy, initiative, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a teamCommitment to cleanliness, food safety, and workplace health and safety standardsPhysical fitness and stamina to work on your feet, lift and move items (1655kg), and work in a cool production environmentWillingness to handle raw ingredients including meat, dairy, and other fresh productsOngoing weekday availabilityWhat to expect:At Hill Street, we bring happiness through great food and are passionate about giving exceptional customer service. Youll need physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as bending, lifting, and moving items (1655kg), in line with Australian Work Safe standards.Pay rates are set by the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award.
