Assistant System Accountant | Auto & General Australia Overview The role supports maintenance and enhancement of financial systems used by the A&G group of companies, primarily TechnologyOne Financials and related systems. Working closely with the Group Finance team and other stakeholders, the role will assist in leveraging existing platforms to improve business processes and identify opportunities for improvement. It will contribute to ongoing support, maintenance and upgrades of the Groups ERP system, collaborating with internal Technology teams and external partners. Responsibilities Assist with the maintenance and support of TechnologyOne Financials and associated finance systems, including monthly ledger close processes. Support the stewardship of the Chart of Accounts. Assist in the identification and analysis of systemrelated issues, supporting the resolution and management of remediation efforts by external partners where necessary. Support the team in implementing automation approaches and process improvement opportunities within current systems. Provide Level 1 support for end users within the Group Finance team and users across the wider business. Responsible for actioning user access administration requests. Assist in identifying future needs of the business in relation to finance systems and related processes. Contribute to the teams knowledge base regarding Finance systems, tools, and technology across Group Finance projects. Develop user training support materials for financial systems. Support communication and collaboration between Group Finance, Technology, and external finance system partners. Qualifications Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or studying parttime with relevant finance or systems work experience). Looking to commence CA/CPA qualification in the future is desirable. 12 years of experience in a finance or accounting role is preferred. Familiarity with TechnologyOne or similar ERP systems is beneficial. Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in business process mapping and design. Strong communication skills and a collaborative work style. Demonstrated attention to detail, commitment to efficiency and accuracy, and a proactive approach to problemsolving. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and working to defined schedules.
