About The Role As a Senior Technician Electronics, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of biomedical equipment across Perth Childrens Hospital. You will undertake both preventative and reactive maintenance on a diverse range of medical devices including patient monitors, ventilators, stretchers, gas flow and suction regulators, gas blending systems, and infusion pumps. The equipment is electronic, but mechanical skills are also highly valued. Working as part of a skilled and supportive team, you will maintain equipment in accordance with MTMU procedures, TGA regulations, and manufacturer recommendations; utilise maintenance data to triage and prioritise repairs, maintain service continuity, and enable the delivery of highquality healthcare and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities Carry out maintenance, repair, performance testing and quality assurance of specialised medical, surgical and scientific equipment. Provide timely technical support and afterhours emergency maintenance services as required. Deliver advice and training to clinical and hospital staff on the safe and effective use of medical equipment. Maintain accurate equipment records and ensure compliance with quality management and safety standards. Keep uptodate knowledge of relevant medical technologies, faultfinding techniques and safety procedures. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support departmental quality audits and documentation. Assist with the design and construction of electromechanical systems as required. About Our Team The Medical Equipment Management Unit (MEMU) provides specialised engineering and technical support for a wide range of biomedical and diagnostic devices across Perth Childrens Hospital and associated sites. Our department supports a large and varied equipment portfolio over 24,000 medical devices valued at more than $107million, spanning 167 sites. We play a vital role in supporting critical care areas such as the Neonatal Transport Unit, Surgical Theatres, Intensive Care Unit, wards, and outpatient clinics.
