Full time 12-month fixed term opportunity $106K - $119K per annum (dependent on experience) + superannuation About the team About the team The Finance team ensures responsible management of our financial resources through strategic planning, budgeting, and reporting. About the role About the role Our Asset Accountant will provide expert technical advice and support to ensure the integrity of Glen Eiras asset management systems and financial information. You will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and reporting asset data to meet statutory obligations, support council planning, and inform internal decisionmaking. Other responsibilities include: Updating and maintaining Glen Eiras asset registers by ensuring timely and accurate capitalisation of completed projects, disposals, enhancements, and revaluations in accordance with statutory and operational timelines. Preparing revaluation information ensuring full compliance with AASB standards. Ensuring accuracy and completeness, and reconciling data in Councils Asset Management System and reconciling with our financial systems, driving system improvements where necessary. Providing expert financial analysis and insights to support strategic asset planning, lifecycle costing, and longterm financial sustainability. Assisting in the coordination of management and statutory accounting information targeted at the different needs within Council. About you About you You have strong skills in asset accounting and experience managing fixed assets in large, complex organisations. You understand budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and can offer accurate and helpful financial advice. Your knowledge of financial systems, relevant laws, and Councils strategic goals helps you keep asset data accurate and supports smart decisionmaking. The following is also required: A tertiary qualification in accounting or related discipline with CPA/CA qualification, with several years of relevant experience. Experience and knowledge in fixed assets accounting and applying relevant AASB standards. Comfortable with managing and analysing complex data both within and between systems, ensuring data integrity. Experience in Councils asset management system (Confirm AMS). Knowledge and experience in Local Government financial and management accounting is preferred, but not mandatory.
