Manager - Water Operations & Maintenance Above salary range is dependent on skills and experience of the successful applicant 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with the option of flexitime Located at Shoalhaven Water Operations Depot, Flinders Road South Nowra About the Role Join the reputable Shoalhaven Water team and lead the delivery of essential water and wastewater services to our vibrant community as Manager - Water Operations & Maintenance. This role requires a seasoned professional who can confidently lead a large operational section within Council, ensuring the delivery of high-quality water and wastewater services. Reporting directly to the Director of Shoalhaven Water, this positions main duties include: Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Shoalhaven Water Operations & Maintenance Department staff across the region. Providing strategic and financial oversight, including budget development, expenditure control, and reporting aligned with Council''s long-term planning. Liaising and collaborating with other Shoalhaven Water Department Managers, including active participation through the Management Team to enable harmonious and effective business operations. Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental, and legislative standards. Driving innovation, continuous improvement, and strategic planning. Representing Council in public forums and contributing to long-term financial planning. The position requires significant out-of-hours work including emergency response such as floods, fires and storms affecting the water and sewerage systems. Availability for on-call duties and reasonable overtime is a requirement. The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. About You Degree in Engineering or equivalent, or extensive relevant experience Extensive experience in the management of water and sewer operations and maintenance functions Demonstrated leadership in supporting people and their work groups to collaborate across organisational boundaries and promote cohesion in delivering outcomes for the community. Current Class C Drivers Licence Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa) Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process.
