About the Role Barwon MHDAS currently has a permanent parttime opportunity for recently graduated or experienced psychiatrists in our ConsultationLiaison (CL) Service based at University Hospital Geelong (UHG). The CL service encompasses a wide range of activities, including primary, secondary and tertiary consultation and liaison across all UHG wards, acting as a mental health resource for nonmental health staff, providing educational support for UGH nurses, midwives and medical staff, and contributing to collaborative care planning for ongoing mental health treatment. The role requires the ability to work with consumers of all ages across all UHG wards and provides a multidisciplinary team environment. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and clinical governance to the CL service in the provision of highquality psychiatric services to consumers. Act as a delegate of the authorised Psychiatrist as defined in the Mental Health Act 2022 and contribute to the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program of the service. Supervise Psychiatry Registrars and Junior Medical Staff. Contribute to the development and delivery of clinical education and training for staff and allied health professionals. Maintain clinical documentation and adhere to regulatory and accreditation standards. Qualifications and Experience Hold the FRANZCP (Faculty of Psychiatry, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists). Be accredited as a supervisor by the RANZCP. Be registered with general or specialist medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Advanced Certificate in ConsultationLiaison Psychiatry or experience working in a ConsultationLiaison service is desirable but not essential.
