About The School Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre (BYETC) is a Department of Education school located within the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre at Wacol. The school caters to male and female students from across Queensland who are either on remand or have been sentenced for criminal offences. About The Role We are seeking Teacher Aides to support our Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) trainers. The role involves assisting teachers in the classroom and helping students with their learning. Key Responsibilities Assist with preparing, maintaining, and organising tools, equipment, and materials. Support students during classes, including practical projects. Perform general maintenance and cleaning of equipment and workspaces. Provide clerical support, such as managing class rolls and photocopying materials. Assist students with special needs, including mobility and personal care (training provided if required). About You We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have experience in the furnishing or construction industry. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Are reliable, empathetic, and sensitive to the needs of students and their families. Are organised and able to manage resources effectively.
