Role The active nightshift position is to ensure the overnight safety of students at Albany Residential College. The successful applicant is to remain awake and vigilant throughout the entire period they are rostered on active nightshift. It is highly important that they are aware of student movements and the residential college surroundings to maintain a safe environment. The successful applicant will support and reinforce appropriate values and behaviours of students, and supervise students, fulfilling duty of care requirements in line with Department policy. They will respect and embrace diversity within the student population and provide opportunities which support the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students. The Boarding Supervisor will promptly report concerns with student and staff wellbeing, duty of care, occupational safety and health and maintenance matters to senior staff. This role requires the applicant to uphold the Public Sector Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct and work in accordance with Department requirements. Responsibilities Remain awake and vigilant during active nightshift. Monitor student movements and college surroundings. Supervise students and enforce duty of care requirements. Qualifications & Eligibility Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or holding a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number. Current Working with Children Check. Work according to rostered hours which may include nights, weekends and public holidays. Prior to first rostered shift with students: First Aid Certificate Provide CPR (HLTAID001) and First Aid Certificate Provide First Aid (HLTAID003). Within six months of commencement: LR Class Drivers Licence, Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation, Aquatic Rescue for Group III Pool Award* and Surf Rescue Certificate*. Within six months of commencement: Certificate IV in Community Services Student Residential Care (CHC42015). * Dependent on operational requirements as determined by College Manager.
