Trainee Health and Building Surveyor Have you completed your Higher School Certificate and are seeking an exciting opportunity to kickstart your professional career in the Local Government? Here at Mid-Western Regional Council, we are seeking a Trainee Health and Building Surveyor who is passionate and driven to succeed in this role. Structured, handson training with expert mentorship to help develop your career as a qualified Health and Building Surveyor, with support to complete an approved qualification recognised by NSW Fair Trading. Diverse and meaningful fieldwork across one of regional NSWs fastestgrowing areas, where your work will directly contribute to community wellbeing and compliance with essential building and health legislation. Worklife balance and professional growth, with a 35hour work week, 4weekly RDOs, and exposure to a wide range of building, development, and public health functions in a supportive Council team environment. Your new job As a Trainee Health and Building Surveyor, you will support Councils building, development, and public health functions while gaining practical experience and undertaking a recognised qualification. Under supervision, youll assist with inspections, assessments, and regulatory tasks across the MidWestern Region, contributing to the safety and wellbeing of the community as you progress towards professional registration. You You have completed the NSW High School Certificate or equivalent. You have the ability and preparedness to enrol in a specialty tertiary qualification that is recognised by Fair Trading NSW to enable ultimate registration as a BuildingSurveyor Unrestricted (previously A1) or Building Surveyor Restricted (all classes of building (previously A2). You have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of word processing packages, database, spreadsheet and email applications. You have the willingness and commitment to undertake the required qualification course study and assignment workload outside of Council working hours. You hold a Current Class C drivers licence. You can demonstrate an interest in Health and Building Surveying as a career. You have organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a team. You are highly motivated and willing to learn. You have knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training tertiary qualifications (or similar) in Building Surveying. The salary range being offered for this fulltime position is $2.498.60 - $2,813 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $64,963.60 - $73,138 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
