Base pay range A$133,603.00/yr - A$143,125.00/yr The Principal Management Accountant is a critical strategic finance role responsible for driving highlevel financial and operational excellence across the organisation. This position goes beyond mere reporting, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior leadership. The incumbent provides expert analytical services, ensures the integrity of the organisation''s financial services framework, and directly supports core business accountabilities, ultimately shaping the organisation''s financial health and performance trajectory. Your Key Responsibilities Lead Financial Services Team in the delivery of financial management services and strategic advice to internal and external stakeholders. Provide high quality financial management analysis and advice to Executives to inform effective decisionmaking. Lead OPG''s budget process to align with the strategic and operational objectives, including input into development of budget submissions, funding allocations, budget principles and support the business units within the division. Provide monthly reports accompanied with variance analysis and forecasting, advise on financial issues and support business unit directors to make informed financial decisions. Provide advice and input from a divisional perspective on financial management compliance with respect to the Financial Accountability Act, Financial Performance Standard, the Financial Management Framework, and other relevant legislation, departmental policies and procedures. Maintain and develop constructive, collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across the divisions, business units and DOJ corporate finance. Provide leadership to the Financial Services team to promote collaborative team engagement and sharing of information to ensure the provision of quality advice and delivery of effective services. Ensure the financial management activities of the Office of the Public Guardian are in accordance with prescribed requirements including the Financial Accountability Act 2009, Financial and Performance Management Standard 2009 and relevant accounting standards. Qualifications And Conditions You must possess professional qualifications in accounting which provide eligibility for membership of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent body in Australia; these are desirable and will be well regarded.
