What We Are Looking For Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking a dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-impact projects across the region. This role sits within our Property Works and Services teama multidisciplinary unit responsible for planning, designing, and delivering infrastructure that supports Council operations and community services. About The Role Youll manage multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion, while also supporting major transformational initiatives. These projects span civic buildings, facilities upgrades, and operational infrastructure, all delivered under Councils Project Management Framework (PMF). Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of capital works projects, ensuring alignment with business cases and stakeholder expectations. Prepare tenders, contracts, RFQs, and manage procurement processes in collaboration with Councils Procurement team. Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Provide clear reporting to internal stakeholders and executive leadership. Mentor junior project managers and contribute to a high-performing project team. What Youll Need For Success Degree (AQF Level 7 or above) relevant to the position and/or extensive experience in a senior project management role Experience in project management of large complex projects within a Corporate Project Management Framework environment High level of interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to relate at the appropriate level to all staff, contractors and community representatives Skills and experience in resolving complex problems and reaching suitable outcomes for Council through negotiation Comprehensive knowledge of contracts/specifications and tendering processes, ideally in a local government framework Demonstrated knowledge of applicable Acts, Regulations, environmental and quality management systems, project methodology and continuous improvement programs. Whats Nice To Have Previous Local Government experience QBCC licence as Builderproject management services to perform the role of Superintendent on projects containing building works.
