Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is the independent regulator of worker safety and health in Queensland''s mining, quarrying, petroleum, gas and explosives industries. Their strategic plan focuses on protecting and promoting the safety and health of persons from risks associated with the resources industry. We are seeking two Principal Project Officers to support the Occupational Health division.The Principal Project Officer sits within RSHQ''s Occupational Health division and is responsible for delivering against a range of occupational health objectives relating to health assessments and health surveillance, the effective regulation of psychosocial hazards, and other occupational health harms relevant to the Queensland resources industry. This includes providing strategic project management, operational services and advice that supports best practice. The role works closely with the broader Occupational Health team and inspectorates.About youIt would be highly beneficial if you have knowledge, skills and experience in:Problem-centric project development and delivery in a regulatory settingPrograms and projects that address occupational health risks including exposures to hazardous substances and psychosocial hazards, as well as consideration of health surveillance and fitness to workProcurement and contract managementStakeholder engagement and communicationPublic speaking.The role works closely alongside RSHQ''s inspectorates and engages with a range of stakeholders across the resource sectors which may include workers, operators, industry and stakeholder representatives and medical practitioners, requiring excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. The role directly provides benefit to the health of Queensland resource sector workers, which requires a highly dedicated and motivated officer to ensure this important value is delivered.The successful candidate may be required to undergo any pre-employment checks including psychometric profiling, disciplinary history and criminal history that may be undertaken.The role description will outline any qualifications, licences and specific requirements of the role.
