We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 385,000 residents. The role Lead and manage the acquisition and disposal of vehicles, plant, and equipment to ensure Councils fleet remains cost-effective, reliable, and fit for purpose. This role also provides strategic advice to support the development and implementation of the long-term asset management plan for Councils fleet assets. Duties will include but not be limited to: Responsible for managing Councils acquisition and disposal program for all Heavy & Light vehicles, plant and mechanical equipment. Ensure that procurement systems and processes undertaken by the Fleet Unit comply with State Government and/or LG Procurement legislative requirements as well as relevant Council Policies, processes and delegations. Responsible for leading the specification tendering and evaluation of all Fleet supply contracts including service, parts and materials. Contribute to the development of Fleets Capital and Operational budget and ongoing management including quarterly review requirements and reporting. Contribute to the development of the Fleet Units asset replacement program to optimise service delivery, maximise efficiencies, minimise downtime and ensure emerging technologies are appraised and considered. Undertake administrative duties that support the Fleet Unit operations. *For a full list of duties, click here to review the position description. You will have Diploma of Local Government Procurement and Contracting or similar and/or equivalent experience C Class Drivers Licence Extensive experience and knowledge of procurement systems and processes. Experience in tender preparation, evaluation and contracts Ability to work with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders and to promote continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrated experience in project management Strong skills in use of Microsoft Office, SAP and Ausfleet Fleet Management software or similar Demonstrated experience in developing, monitoring and maintaining budgets The salary range for this opportunity starts at $93,583 (Grade G, Step1) + 12% super.
