Job Description

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors, have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project that will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle, and Bannaby in regional NSW, significantly increasing the capacity of the electricity network in Australias eastern states. It is one of Australias largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365 kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double-circuit transmission lines spanning approximately 140 kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the interface point with HumeLink East near Gundagai, and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.OpportunityPlease note this is a site delivery role requiring DIDO/FIFO or relocation where additional allowances will apply.We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join the HumeLink West team. The position is responsible for:Key AccountabilitiesProvide strong focus on cost trending and forecastingEstablish and monitor project baseline budgetsProduce regular end-of-month cost reportsMaintain risk registers to include change impactsMonitor and report on cost actuals vs budgetLiaison with the PCM for compiling and submitting client progress claimsThe following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you dont tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.What we are looking for you to bring to the teamTertiary qualifications in business, commercial, engineering, finance or similar preferredMinimum 5 years practical experience on major infrastructure projectsDemonstrated experience with cost management tools (Excel, SAP, Power BI, SharePoint, JDE)Highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skillsStrong conflict resolution skills, coupled with the ability to work independently in a fastpaced construction environmentThe successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencementWhere applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
