The Hader Clinic Queenslands treatment program approaches drug and alcohol addiction as a chronic disease. The philosophy of the Hader Clinic Queensland is to treat the biological, psychological, social and spiritual factors that lead to addiction. Hader Clinic Queensland is driven by a vision to deliver a high-quality rehabilitation program that aims to work with the mind, body and spirit of addicted individuals.Hader Clinic Queensland''s treatment focus is to support individuals to move from alcohol and other drug use to abstinence. While abstinence is the goal, Hader Clinic Queensland also aims to support those individuals to become fully functional members of their family and the broader community, providing opiate stabilisation, reduction and abstinence programs. Hader Clinic Queensland believes that through effective alcohol or drug rehabilitation, individuals can become productive people who can achieve their full potential, and find or rediscover their purpose in life.Hader Clinic Queensland has a 40-bed residential rehabilitation facility offering 4, 8 and 12 week programs. In May 2021, Hader Clinic Queensland Private Hospital commenced operation as a 25 bed AOD and mental health hospital.Hader Clinic Queensland Private Hospital is seeking to appoint Registered Nurses with either experience and or interest in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) for either full time or part time positions. The Registered Nurses in conjunction with General Manager Clinical Services and other clinical staff will be responsible for the day to day duties of the 25 bed private hospital specialising in alcohol and other drug withdrawal and detox, in accordance with the philosophy, and aims of the Hader Clinic Queensland.Registered / Enrolled Nurse Role:This position requires the Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses to work in collaboration with the General Manager, Clinicians, Consultant Psychiatrist, GP, support staff and other nursing staff at Hader Clinic QLD Private Hospital to ensure an effective and efficient alcohol and other drugs treatment and rehabilitation programs and detox.All Nursing staff actively promote a positive culture within the service, which is reflected in the organisations policies and procedures.The position is located at our hospital facility in Gympie QLD.Specific training provided to assist nurses wanting a career in AOD / Mental HealthRole Summary and Description of Duties:Full Time, Part time availabilities to undertake Days, Afternoons, Nights & Weekends shifts.Ensure a high standard of nursing assessment, treatment and care to patients in the therapeutic community;Positioned to undertake regular shift work including night.Provide medical treatment to residents in the therapeutic community that do not warrant GP visitation;Support clinical treatment of residents in detox programs (such as opiate and alcohol reduction assessment planning and implementation) and liaise with doctors, hospitals and other clinical services required;Administer medication as prescribed including liaison with doctors, psychiatrist, pharmacist and other specialists;Liaise between clinical and medical staff regarding resident medical issues including: Pharmacotherapy such as script dates and changes;Residents on key medications e.g. Anti-psychotic, anti-depressant, strong pain management to ensure informed and coordinated care;Monitoring and communicate Urinary Drug Screen results to clinical staff as required;Arrange specialist health appointments and follow up as required for patients;Liaise with and co-ordinate appointments for psychiatrist, GPs, hospitals and community based services.Liaise with Clinical staff at the retreat and hospital and coordinate care appropriately, to ensure consistent and congruent treatment.Maintain resident health recordsParticipate in clinical meetings as requiredChanges to vaccination mandate allows unvaccinated nurses to applyQualifications: EssentialCurrent registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)Experience or interest in an area relevant to the alcohol and other drugs field.Hader Clinic Queensland Private also provide regular onsite training to assist with broadening your skillset in this space.Current First Aid CertificateWillingness to be trained in AOD.Experience: EssentialCapacity to provide a high standard of clinical nursing skills in monitoring, evaluation, problem solving, decision making and case management.Interest and or knowledge of medical management and needs of clients withdrawing from alcohol and other drugs in the range of treatment approachesInterest or experience working within the drug and alcohol rehabilitation and treatment sector.Good interpersonal, communication and computer skills using patient management softwareCurrent drivers licence and live or within local commute to Gympie QLD.
