We are home to four large Aboriginal nations the Gundungurra, Ngunnawal, Ngarigo and Yuin.Southern NSWLHD comprises of 2 Networks - Inlands centred around Goulburn, Monaro, Queanbeyan and Cooma, AND Coastal centered around Bega, Batemans Bay and Moruya in the far south-east corner of NSW and the Integrated Care Network.What you''ll be doingLeading the stroke service at Goulburn Base Hospital, providing contemporary best practice specialist services for optimal patient outcomes. This includes leadership that optimizes multidisciplinary and inter departmental cooperation, to efficiently and effectively allocate and manage resources for best patient care.Provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.You will be employed by Southern NSW Local Health District. The position is primarily located at the facility applied for. Secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.Our Offer:Renumeration Staff Specialist & VMOFlexible work arrangementsSalary Packaging up to $9k for living expenses + $2.6k meal & entertainment + Novated leasingCorporate Health and Fitness program11% Superannuation on top of your gross incomeAnnual Leave LoadingYour Opportunity:Provide best practice evidence based clinical services to achieve quality patient outcomes.Undertake supervision and education within the clinical environment of junior medical staff and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice.Utilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning.Communicate with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care.Actively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practicesComply with relevant legislation and regulations, NSW Ministry of Health policies and SNSWLHD procedures to assist in meeting Activity Based Funding, Commonwealth and State targets.To apply, please address the following Selection CriteriaEligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General/Subspeciality Physician.Demonstrated significant experience in management of stroke patients.Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to all aspects of clinical governance.Demonstrated commitment to participation in on-call rosters and providing timely on-site responses.Demonstrated ability to consistently display a commitment to, and compliance with, and leadership in high quality Customer Service, Workplace Diversity, Occupational Health & Safety and Industrial Democracy principles, practices and relevant legislation relating to these areas and an understanding of and commitment to the organisation''s values.Demonstrate a history of clinical excellence, evidence of commitment to clinical leadership and evidence of achievements and effective outcomes in clinical leadership.Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific DiseasesThis is a Category A position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive.
