Lead safe, efficient, and dynamic production operations at a 24/7 coal export terminalDrive team culture, capability and process performance to help deliver APOs vision of 50Mtpa safely and sustainablyLive and work in the stunning Whitsundays with relocation assistance availableFor more than 40 years, the North Qld Export Terminal, located at the Port of Abbot Point, has demonstrated its commitment to safety, efficiency, responsibility, and partnership with the local community.APO has been contracted by North Queensland Export Terminal Pty Ltd to manage operations of its coal export terminal at the Port of Abbot Point - Australias northernmost coal port - located 25 kilometres north of Bowen, between Townsville and Mackay, serving as the gateway to the Whitsundays.Were seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to lead the Production Team in achieving the sites daily, weekly, and monthly throughput targets. Working Monday to Friday and reporting directly to the Operations Manager, youll provide leadership, direction, and stability across a 24/7 operational environment, ensuring production processes are safe, efficient, and continuously improving.What Youll Do:Lead and coach the Production Team to deliver the agreed production plan safely and efficiently.Monitor live production performance across shiploading, inloading, stacking, and reclaim operations, identifying and addressing issues that impact throughput or safety.Drive operational discipline and consistency through effective application of production systems, shift handover processes, and performance reporting.Collaborate closely with Maintenance and Logistics to ensure production targets are met and downtime is minimised.Analyse production data to identify improvement opportunities and implement innovative process changes.Oversee and maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards, fostering a strong, interdependent safety culture.Develop, mentor, and support Supervisors and Team Leaders through mentoring and coaching.Contribute to departmental business planning, budgeting, and improvement initiatives aligned with APOs operational strategy.What Were Looking For:Youre a proven leader who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and understands the operational complexities of bulk material handling. You balance strong technical and process knowledge with the ability to lead, engage, and develop people in a 24/7 operation.
