About the Role As a Chef at La Porchetta Mentone, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and overseeing the cooking of food to ensure every dish meets our high standards of taste, presentation, and quality. Youll work closely with management and kitchen staff to maintain smooth kitchen operations and uphold our reputation for excellence. This is a hands-on role that requires both culinary skill and leadership ability. Key Responsibilities Menu Planning & Cost Control Develop and plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order appropriate food and kitchen supplies. Food Preparation & Cooking Prepare and cook a variety of Italian and contemporary dishes, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and presentation. Quality & Hygiene Oversight Monitor food quality and presentation at all stages of preparation, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene and food safety standards. Team Collaboration Work closely with managers, dietitians, and waiting staff to discuss food preparation, menu development, and special dietary requirements. Training & Mentoring Demonstrate techniques, advise team members on cooking procedures, and assist in training and developing kitchen staff. Operational Excellence Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Stock & Inventory Management Track inventory levels, rotate stock, and ensure all ingredients are used effectively to minimize waste. Preservation & Storage Freeze, store, and preserve foods in line with restaurant and safety guidelines.
