Were looking for a dedicated individual to work as a OO5 Ranger based on Kgari (Fraser Island). Reporting to Ranger in Charge, Eurong, youll help deliver the annual works program and lead a talented team of rangers. Key responsibilities include staff supervision, workplace safety, infrastructure maintenance, compliance, and visitor management. Youll also oversee contractors and contribute to fostering a positive team environment. TARGETED VACANCY This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified role. The position will be required to oversee the work of external contractors so requires a good understanding of the department''s safety, procurement and financial practices. K''gari (Fraser Island) is a high visitation area where rangers are expected to deliver a high level of visitor compliance on a regular basis that can require working over long weekends and during school holidays. This position is based on K''gari (Fraser Island). Rangers are required to work a 10/4 roster and the remote position is required to live on island during their shift. Departmental accommodation will be provided to the successful applicant, however travel to other locations on the island may be required from time to time. What''s in it for you?
