We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join the Fleet team. You will assist workshop staff to ensure servicing, maintenance and repairs of Council vehicles, plant and equipment are performed in a safe and efficient manner. You will receive onthejob training whilst completing your Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, your responsibilities will include: Adhering to apprenticeship training requirements including attending all classes, handing in assignments on time, and sitting for exams in accordance with the registered training organisations timetable. Ensure that the workshop, tools and equipment are kept clean and maintained in an appropriate condition so as to promote a better workshop environment. Ensure that all infrequently used items of plant are recorded in the appropriate manner by staff and if not report to the Senior Mechanic. Perform recordkeeping duties such as timesheets, service sheets and Customer Service Requests. Work as part of a team in a professional manner. You will be paid in accordance with the Traineeship pay scale as outlined in the Local Government (State) Award 2023 plus superannuation. About You We are seeking a motivated individual with a passion for the automotive industry. To succeed in this role, you will: Have the ability to follow directions and take instruction. Be eager to learn new skills and undertake formal training. Be able to work as part of a team. Have demonstrated literacy and communication skills with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety. Hold (or be willing to obtain) a NSW Class C Manual Driver Licence and a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
