Requirements for this role: Flexible hours available 23 years of relevant work experience required for this role Location: Tasmania, Australia Established Trawling company working the Australian Fishing Zones, seeks the following fulltime fishing industry positions: Ships Master, Ships Engineer, Master Fisher, Ships Officer, Deckhands & Fishing Hands, Seafood Processors. This company maintains a drug & alcoholfree workplace; employees may be subject to random drug & alcohol testing. Employment may require travel to other locations subject to operational requirements. Roles and Experience Requirements Ships Master at least 5 years relevant experience; sea time of less than 5 years may be considered based on experience. Ships Engineer (Fishing) at least 5 years relevant experience; if holding a required license, must hold appropriate tickets. Master Fisher at least 5 years relevant experience; sea time can be less than 5 years if experience justifies. Ships Officer at least 5 years relevant experience; licence compliance required. Fishing and Deckhands at least 1 year Australian work experience, preferably in crab handling; must provide seatime or logbook evidence. Salary Ranges Ships Master: $120,000.00 or greater, subject to negotiation Ships Engineer (Fishing): $72,000 to $82,000 Master Fisher: $75,000 to $82,000 Ships Officer: $72,000 to $82,000 Deck and Fishing Hands: $68,800 to in excess of $78,000 All above occupations include government regulated superannuation guarantee. Seafood Processors We are seeking highly experienced seafood processor workers for both fulltime and seasonal vacancies. A minimum of 2 years experience as a seafood processor with verifiable references is required. Typical tasks may include: Assisting in unloading fresh seafood from vessels Moving seafood product to chillers, freezers, and live tanks Sorting, dressing, filleting fish while maintaining high recovery rate Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas Loading seafood products into trucks and packing into cartons Inspecting and grading fish and shellfish for size and quality Operating machines that slice, peel, skin, crumb and package seafood product Ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations Wages for Seafood Processors range from $68,800 to in excess of $78,000 per year plus superannuation guarantee for highly experienced industry workers.
