ABOUT THE ROLE 6Month Fixed Term Contract Band 3 + Industry Allowance: $69,095 + 12% superannuation + Maintenance Allowance Full Time with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off The Open Space & Environment Department are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive person to assist in the maintenance across key areas of parks and gardens operations in line with priorities and demands. This includes, but is not limited to: Tree maintenance and management on Council owned land across the Shire. Responding to requests for tree removal and maintenance both in urban and rural road reserves, and Council parks & gardens. Proactive tree removal and maintenance and general arborist works, including using an Elevated Work Platform (EWP), traffic management, chainsaws, handsaws, chipper and other machinery. ABOUT YOU You will have knowledge and/or experience in vegetation management or a similar role. This includes an understanding of how to safely and competently undertake a range of tree maintenance duties including the use of plant and equipment, specifically chainsaws and tree management equipment. You will be known for your excellent attention to detail, time management and the ability to work well within a team and you must be prepared to work from Leongatha or Foster. You will have, or be able to obtain, the following certificates and licences: Current Medium or Heavy Rigid truck licence Experience in tree maintenance Experience operating a variety of plant & equipment used in Operations specifically chainsaws and tree management equipment Satisfactory Police Records Check Construction Industry Red/White Card WHY YOU''LL LOVE WORKING WITH US!
