Job Description

Location: Moruya Overview The Apprentice Electrician is a full-time, fixed-term position within the Water and Sewerage Division, based at the Moruya Depot. The successful applicant will also travel to Nowra to attend weekly or block release training. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in electrical services. You will receive on-the-job training, gain valuable skills and experience, and work towards a Certificate III - Electrical (Electrotechnology Systems Electrician). As part of the role, you will develop hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, repair and upgrades to Councils Water, Sewerage and Radio Communications services. You will also be involved in installing and configuring electrical circuits, appliances, switchgear, and complex control and communications equipment. The starting salary for this position is $1,391.57 per fortnight plus 12% superannuation and is dependent on the age of the employee on commencement. About you You have a minimum Year 10 certificate or equivalent and a genuine interest in electrical services, particularly in an industrial or utility setting. Youre eager to learn and ready to take on the challenges of an apprenticeship that combines hands-on experience with formal training. Interest in industrial or utility electrical work Sound maths and literacy skills Clear communication and teamwork abilities Commitment to completing apprenticeship training, including TAFE Physical fitness to work at heights and in confined spaces Willingness to work in water/wastewater environments.
