Apprentice Mechanic (Four Year Duration) Location: Moruya About the role The Apprentice Mechanic is a full-time, fixed-term position within the Maintenance Division, based at the Moruya Depot. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the mechanical trades industry. You will gain handson experience in maintaining, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing Councils plant and automotive fleet, while working towards a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology. Travel to Canberra will be required to attend weekly or block release training as part of the apprenticeship. The starting salary for this position is $1,391.57 per fortnight plus 12% superannuation and is dependent on the age of the employee on commencement. About you You have a minimum Year 10 certificate or equivalent and a strong interest in mechanical trades with a willingness to learn. Youre enthusiastic about pursuing a career in mechanical trades and have a basic knowledge of mechanical equipment. Commitment to completing all components of the apprenticeship, including CIT and additional training. Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a variety of environments, including confined spaces and areas affected by waste. Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills. A teamfocused attitude with good interpersonal and communication skills. Physical fitness to perform labouring tasks and operate equipment.
