Land Services Officer RiverKeeper (Identified)Advisory & Technical Grade 5 | Salary from $99,938.00 plus super and leave loading About the role This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identify as being Aboriginal and be accepted in the community as such. This role works directly with Aboriginal traditional owners, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, landholders, and the broader community to develop projects to upskill and undertake riparian restoration works in priority Hunter River reaches with strong community engagement and Cultural outcomes. Responsibilities Provide timely and effective frontline community consultation, engagement and extension services. Collect and collate data, analyse information and provide accurate and appropriately balanced advice, reports and recommendations on natural resource management issues. Build partnerships and support collaboration internally and with partners to address Hunter riparian projects. Support emergency management by assisting with activities to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies with support and training. Support the implementation of relevant legislation and policy. About You To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following: Aboriginal Community Engagement experience. Knowledge and understanding of agricultural, environmental, natural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management issues. Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance. Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel. Experience with Green Team, Ranger Team or Bush Regen team would also be an advantage.
