About The Role Electricians support our Underground Mining Operations by providing vital maintenance work on our underground mining equipment so that production can continue. This important role will be based in Narrabri, NSW in our development team. With approvals to operate through to 2044, we offer long-term career opportunities in a well-established, long-life underground coal mine. We currently have 2 x positions available in our development team, offered on a residential or DIDO basis. Relocation assistance can be made available to candidates looking to move to the area. What Youll Do Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance work on underground mining equipment Maintain plant availability through inspections, fault finding, diagnosis and remediation actions Report on defects and update maintenance and production logs Complete planned and routine maintenance as per schedule Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability What Youll Bring Australian Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification Minimum 12-months experience working in an underground mine Experience working on mining or heavy earthmoving machinery Must demonstrate a personal commitment to safety Ability to work rotating shifts day, night and afternoon Ability to meet clean-shaven requirements in line with underground coal mining respiratory safety standards Whitehaven Coal Whitehaven Coal is committed to increasing the representation of women and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the workplace.
