Epidemiologist Full Time Are you seeking a rewarding and diverse Epidemiologist role in a leading regional hospital? Gippsland Regional Public Health Unit is looking for an Epidemiologist to join our growing team on a fulltime (1.0EFT) basis. The Epidemiologist role is responsible for translating complex, multisource health data into actionable insights that inform public health policy, planning and interventions across the Gippsland region. Working closely with government partners and other local public health units, the Epidemiologist will help shape evidencebased strategies to improve health outcomes for priority populations. Responsibilities Lead communicable disease surveillance, monitoring and analysis to identify trends and inform rapid responses. Conduct advanced epidemiologic analyses using multiple data sources to support evidenceinformed public health decisionmaking. Develop population health outcomes frameworks, reporting systems and evaluation processes for key public health initiatives. Communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences, including technical and nontechnical stakeholders, through clear reports and visualisations. Collaborate with internal teams, government departments and research partners to support public health programmes and research activities. Contribute to quality assurance, data governance and continuous improvement of epidemiologic practice. About you Ideal candidates for this role will have: Postgraduate qualifications in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health or a related field. Strong knowledge of epidemiologic methods and population health surveillance. Advanced skills in data management and statistical software (e.g. R, Power BI or similar). Demonstrated experience working with large data sets and delivering highquality reports. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts. A collaborative mindset with proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and agencies. Benefits Salary packaging up to $9,000 per annum. Meals/Entertainment benefit up to $2,650 per annum.
