NSW Health Pathology are currently seeking a Scientific Officer on a fulltime basis. The role involves travelling across sites in the South West Sydney (Liverpool, Campbelltown, Bankstown, Bowral and Fairfield Hospitals) and carrying out Pathology laboratory staff training, performance development and competency assessments. The Scientific and Technical Area Trainers will be Pathology discipline experts in a minimum of two disciplines in the core laboratory and will facilitate continuing professional development for other staff within that discipline. Trainers will also assist in routine laboratory work to understand workflow and maintain their knowledge. This is a shiftworker position, required to participate in a 24/7 roster. Apply Now by Addressing the Following Questions: Bachelors Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to pathology from a recognised tertiary institution. Customer focused approach displaying welldeveloped interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical and laboratory staff, along with report writing skills, statistical evaluation of scientific data and the ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures. Evidence of expertise knowledge and technical experience in one or more disciplines within the field of Pathology (Core Lab) with experience in training, competency and method review. Demonstrated managerial skills with experience in laboratory operations, administration and budgeting. Advanced knowledge of Pathology Laboratory Information Systems including supervision of ebased Quality Management Systems. Sound understanding of legislation, policies and requirements that impact the laboratory environment including work health and safety and privacy requirements. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of accreditation frameworks, relevant standards and quality systems. Current unencumbered NSW Class C Drivers Licence, and willingness to work across all NSWHP South West Sydney area as required. Need More Information?
