Administration Officer Infrastructure & Operations Part Time 6 Month Term Contract Job No: COWRA30119 Location: Cowra, NSW Employment Status: Part Time Six Month Term Contract Hours of Work: Tuesday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm 28 hours per week Closing Date: 5:00pm Sunday, 16 November 2025 About Cowra & Council Cowra is located within beautiful Central NSW on the banks of the Lachlan River, approximately one hour from Bathurst and Orange, two hours from Canberra and four hours from Sydney. The town is situated at the intersection of three state highways the MidWestern Highway, the Olympic Highway and the Lachlan Valley Way making it a central hub for travel, freight and logistics. Covering 2810 square kilometres, the shire includes a number of small villages which feed into the Cowra township and contribute to the shires agricultural and cultural growth. These villages include Billimari, Darbys Falls, Gooloogong, Morongla, Noonbinna, Wattamondara, Woodstock and Wyangala. Cowra is a town with deep historical ties to Japan and is regarded as a centre for peace. Its public identity became part of World WarII history with the Cowra Breakout of 1944. This tragic event led Cowra to focus on promoting the values of friendship and reconciliation, something which the town still projects today. About the Opportunity Are you a motivated and detailoriented professional with a passion for administrative excellence? Cowra Council is seeking an experienced applicant to fill the position of Administration Assistant within the Infrastructure & Operations Department of Council. This parttime position will be for a 6month period and the role is primarily responsible for providing general administrative support to Infrastructure & Operations staff to enable the efficient and effective operation of the department. The position will be required to provide accurate and timely processing of correspondence, assist with customer service and data entry including updating records in operational registers. Applicants would need to possess relevant experience in an administrative position, demonstrated highlevel communication and customer service skills, along with experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Qualifications CertificateIII in Business Administration or similar, or relevant experience in a similar role. Hold a current and valid Drivers Licence. Demonstrated highlevel computer skills across a range of applications and the ability to adapt to new computer software easily. Demonstrated ability to manage time, set priorities and organise ones own work to achieve set objectives efficiently within available resources and timeframe. Proven ability to provide excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with people at all levels. Highlevel customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
