Build a long-term career with a global leader in sustainable ultra-high purity alumina production.The Organisation: Alpha HPA is a publicly listed, Australian-based company that has commercialised the worlds first solvent extraction (SX) purification technique applied to aluminium. This breakthrough process produces a growing range of ultra-high purity aluminium materials oxides, hydroxides and nitrates used across advanced industries such as LED lighting, synthetic sapphire, semiconductors and lithium-ion batteries.Alpha HPAs materials deliver market-leading purity levels with a significantly lower carbon profile. The Stage One HPA First Project in Gladstone is already in production the first commercial application of Alpha HPAs proprietary SX process, producing >99.99% pure aluminium products.Construction of the large-scale commercial facility (Stage Two HPA First Project) is underway, with full-scale production targeted for mid-2027. Once operational, Alpha HPA will produce 10,000 tonnes of HPA equivalent per year, right here in Gladstone.The OpportunityAlpha HPA is seeking a Site Mechanical Engineer to join its Gladstone team. This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute across both construction and operations phases of a major greenfield project.During construction, youll report to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager, supporting commissioning and operational readiness for Stage Two of the HPA First Project. Once the plant becomes operational, youll transition into the maintenance engineering team, focused on reliability and performance of critical plant assets.Key responsibilities include:Reviewing vendor manuals and developing maintenance strategies for CMMS integrationCompiling asset management plans and building the CMMS for Stage 2 operationsSupporting asset improvement initiatives using The Asset Guardian (TAG) CMMSCollaborating with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot, upgrade and improve equipmentOverseeing changes to maintenance strategies and ensuring compliance with Alpha HPA standardsApplying reliability tools (OEE, FMECA, RCM) to enhance plant performanceProviding technical support to production teams and assisting with shutdown planningEnsuring safety, risk and environmental programs are strictly adhered toAbout YouYoull bring:Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering (essential)Minimum 510 years experience in maintenance engineering within complex industrial environments such as minerals processing, petrochemical or chemical manufacturingExperience with both rotating and static equipment, including pressure systems, kilns, furnaces and pumpsPrior exposure to greenfield construction or large brownfield expansion projectsWell-developed Root Cause Analysis (5-Why) problem-solving and decision-making skillsStrong communication and collaboration skills to promote a culture of shared success and improvementSound knowledge of maintenance cost analysis and reliability tools (OEE, FMECA, RCM)Experience with CMMS systems such as The Asset Guardian (TAG) highly regardedYoure a hands-on, proactive engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoy seeing large-scale industrial projects through from build to operation.Your RewardThis is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a competitive compensation based on experience, plus other benefits.Youll be based at Alpha HPAs Stage One Yarwun site in Gladstone, working within a collaborative and high-performance team and enjoying genuine long-term career growth as the commercial facility comes online.Next StepsTo register your interest, click the Apply for this job now button, and submit your resume.
