The Opportunity We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Governance Officer to support the delivery of efficient governance and compliance processes across Council. This position provides administrative and operational support across governance, insurance, and complaints management functions, ensuring that Council meets its statutory and organisational obligations. What You Will Do Process insurance and small claims made against Council, including managing enquiries, acknowledging claims, reviewing information, determining liability, and liaising with Councils insurer. Administer Councils Complaints Management System, ensuring complaints are registered, acknowledged, and referred or responded to within established timeframes. Provide administrative support to governance and compliance processes, including reporting, correspondence, and document management. Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance systems, customer experience and risk management practices. Assist in ensuring Councils governance activities align with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements. About You You are an organised, proactive professional who enjoys working in a team environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative and governance support. You will also bring: Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. The capacity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Experience or knowledge in governance, compliance, risk or insurance administration (preferred but not essential). A commitment to integrity, accountability and great customer service. Why Join Us?
