About the role The General Maintenance Officer is responsible for providing a high quality maintenance services which will include identifying and carrying out preventative maintenance, repair and improvement works to the organisations buildings, grounds and equipment in accordance with the day to day and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure that the physical environment for residents is neat, comfortable, safe and hazard free. Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: Supporting contractors with on-site duties Assisting with fleet management Rubbish and waste removal Data entry and computer-based tasks Pool cleaning and maintenance Delivery and distribution of goods. Key responsibilities Participate in the on-call roster (approximately every 59 weeks). Ensure timely and accurate communication, reporting, and documentation of maintenance and gardening schedules. Prioritise workloads and respond effectively to gardening requests and changing circumstances. Report any broken or damaged equipment promptly to ensure timely repairs. Promote and maintain residents self-esteem, dignity, integrity, safety, security, and comfort through respectful and professional conduct. Utilise the maintenance management system (currently FIX) to track, update, and close all assigned maintenance requests. Drive the facility bus as required (subject to appropriate licensing). Provide support to other maintenance and grounds staff during peak periods or staff absence, which may include: Assisting with garden and grounds maintenance. Performing building cleaning tasks such as: Pressure washing Cobweb removal Window cleaning Desired Skills and Experience Current First Aid Certificate Current Police Check NDIS Worker Screening Check Current Drivers Licence Understanding of the Aged Care Sector, Retirement Living and Independent Living Sector Extensive experience in a maintenance role of relevant field Demonstrated ability to work professionally and to operate independently; supervise other staff where necessary Awareness of WHS requirements, manual handling and infection control Demonstrated communication skills and Interpersonal skills Able to work across all company sites All offers are subject to satisfactory references; police checks and a Functional Assessment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
