Job Description

The City of Wagga Wagga is seeking a talented and driven Spatial Analyst to join our Geospatial Information Services team. In this dynamic role, youll play a key part in designing and supporting spatial systems, delivering high-quality geospatial analysis, and driving innovation across Council operations. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how we use spatial data to inform decisions and enhance services for our community. Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week). Commencing salary at $3,343.26 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $4,011.91 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%). Your new role: As the Spatial Analyst, you will play a key role in the technical development, integration, and support of web mapping, mobility, and related GIS services. You will provide expert advice and handson technical support to enhance Councils spatial data environment, ensuring systems are robust, innovative, and aligned with industry best practice. The position will be responsible for: Spatial systems design and administration including customisation of software and integration with other corporate systems. Provide high level GIS software support, development and troubleshooting. Spatial data maintenance, analysis and modelling. Work collaboratively to scope, implement and deliver spatial projects. Develop and deliver GIS related software training within individual and group environments. Assist with the design, testing, operating, and improving of ICT services utilising ITIL best practice frameworks. What you will need to succeed: The successful applicant will have: Tertiary qualifications and/or industry certificates relevant to the role e.g. Degree in Spatial Science, Information Technology; Three (3) to five (5) years demonstrated work experience relevant to the role; Highly developed communication, interpersonal and administrative skills; and An ability to work effectively within a team and independently to meet deadlines is essential.
