Job Description BESIX Watpac are seeking a Building Cadet to join our Construction NSW division initially based on site working with the delivery team on the new Shellharbour Hospital Project. You will join our cadet and early careers program which will provide exposure to all facets of the construction industry including Engineering, Coordination, Design, Estimating, Commercial and Safety. This is a fantastic opportunity for a university student to secure a role with a Top Tier building contractor. Proactively drive company safety policies, practices and procedures in compliance with OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times. Ensure compliance with the Company Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and procedures. Assist with the trade package tendering process including compilation and approval of tender documents and proposed tender list, issue of documents, receipt of tenders, comparison of tenders and submission of tender recommendationsfor approval. Assist with general administration and coordination of trade packages following award. Compilation and control of project documents including maintenance of a control register. Ensure prompt issue of documentation to the respective parties. Assist with general site duties, office and administration as required. Qualifications The successful candidate will fulfil the following requirements: Studying a Construction/Building tertiary course at a recognised institution, ideally in second or third year. Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability and willingness to learn new software packages as required. Proven high level of professionalism and work ethic. Proven track record and ongoing focus on timeliness, accuracy and punctuality. Attendance of lectures during work hours not to exceed 1 full-day, or 2 half-days per week.
