Full-time, 2-year fixed term, located at the School of Chemistry on the Camperdown Campus.Responsibilitiesundertake research in metallomics and chemical biologypublish research papersassist with grant writing and publishing original worksupport teaching activities and the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate studentsWhat you will be doingThe School of Chemistry is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Metallomics and Chemical Biology with the primary responsibility of performing metallomics studies including the preparation of responsive fluorescent sensors for application in biological studies. The project is funded by a grant from the Human Frontier for Science Program and involves collaboration with researchers from different disciplines across four countries.About youa PhD (or near completion) in organic chemistry, chemical biology, protein engineering or a closely related disciplineexperience in the synthesis, purification and characterization of organic moleculesexperience in the use of research methodologies relevant to metallomicsexperience in the preparation and deployment of fluorescent proteins will be highly regardedexperience in biological studies will be highly regardedproven ability to conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision either independently or as a member of a teamexperience in student supervision at the undergraduate and graduate levelproficient in the use of: NMR, IR, MS and UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopypublished research as sole author or in collaborationexperience in research record keeping, preparation of research papers and presentation of seminarsPre-employment checksYour employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
