About the Role Youll take ownership of complex tenders, ensuring submissions are accurate, competitive and aligned with BMDs methodology and values. Working alongside the Chief Estimator, construction teams and senior leaders, youll play a pivotal role in securing major infrastructure projects across road, bridge, and utilities sectors. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and review of tender documentation and pricing submissions.Identify and assess project risks, opportunities and market competitiveness.Source and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.Develop buildups of direct and indirect costs using Expert Estimation software.Coordinate site visits, pretender meetings, and stakeholder engagement.Manage posttender negotiations and handovers to project delivery teams.Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement in estimating practices.Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors. About You Youre an experienced Estimator ready to take the next step, or a proven Senior Estimator looking for a new challenge with a Tier 1 civil contractor. Youll bring strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset that aligns with BMDs family values. What Youll Bring 8+ years of demonstrated experience leading tender preparation within the civil construction sector (Transport, Defence, Renewable projects).Proficiency in estimating software such as Expert Estimation with strong cost analysis and breakdown capabilities.Deep understanding of contract terms, risk assessment, and market pricing strategies.Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.Proven ability to mentor and support junior estimators while driving team performance.Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple concurrent tenders in a dynamic environment.
