You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members. You will play an integral role in assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and in the provision of care that will support the health and being of members pre and post deployments. You will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units. You will be supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues. You may be required to provide the services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward. About ADF Health Services In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. This includes providing defenceready clinical and support staff across 45+ onbase locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality onsite medical care. About Williamtown Williamtown Health Centre is located 30km north of Newcastle at RAAF Base Williamtown, Australias premier fighter pilot training base. The base is one of the busiest in New South Wales, employing over 4500 people. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 07301530 MonFri (depending on role requirements). Casual opportunity available. To be successful in this role youll have: The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour. Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration. Minimum of 2 years fulltime post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or parttime equivalent). Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification. Basic military aviation medicine course or equivalent Opportunity to be sponsored to complete this if you do not currently hold any of the below: Australian Defence Force Aviation Medical Officer Course; United States Air Force Primary Aerospace Medicine Course, US Navy or US Army basic courses; or equivalent military AVMED course as determined by Commanding Officer AVMED civilian AVMED course, with appropriate military experience as determined by Commanding Officer AVMED Please note: You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role. You dont need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian onbase and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
