This position involves collaborating with the elected Mayor and senior leadership to develop and implement effective communication strategies, manage reputational risks, and provide crisis communication expertise.This role requires a strong leader who can foster community confidence and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, ensuring that the team''s outputs align with Council''s values and objectives.Who We''re Looking ForThe ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in public relations and media management. You will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.Tertiary qualifications inCommunications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.Experience in strategic public relations within a diverse organisation.Proven ability to manage media responses during crisis situations.Exceptional writing and communication skills for diverse audiences.Experience in Local, State, or Federal Government and change management is desirable.
