Employment Type: Visiting Medical OfficerPosition Classification: Visiting Medical OfficerRequisition ID: REQ485606Applications Close: 30 November 2025 Where you''ll be working Griffith Base Hospital is a 119-bed facility in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, serving approximately 19,500 emergency presentations annually. It has a 24-hour Emergency Department with 15 spaces, supported by an ICU and telehealth connections to specialists across NSW. What You''ll Be Doing A Visiting Medical Officer providing non-procedural GP services and high-level clinical care in the Emergency Department. Participating in the on-call roster and responding to calls within reasonable time. Involvement in service and policy development, education, training, and quality improvement projects. Supporting core NSW public sector values of cultural diversity, equity, ethical practice, and a safe, fair workplace. Required Skills & Experience Current registration: MBBS or equivalent, registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner. Minimum three (3) years post-graduate clinical experience; experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, or Rural Medicine is an advantage. Knowledge of contemporary clinical management of acute and chronic medical conditions and competence in performing minor urgent procedures, including Advanced Life Support and Trauma management. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership. Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Availability to participate in on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time. Commitment to behaviours that align with NSW Health CORE values and MLHD values.
