As a two-time finalist for REBs Best Buyers Agency, were helping Australians build wealth through property.Were expanding our team, and we need great engineers to help us move faster and smarter.About the RoleWere looking for a Software Developer to join our newly formed engineering team and take on projects and initiatives both collaboratively and independently. This is a rare opportunity to shape the technical direction of a fast-moving company from the ground up.Youll work on a mix of internal tools that drive efficiency across departments, and public-facing applications in the wealth management space. Every day is different, so expect to solve real problems, explore emerging technologies, and ship things that matter.What youll be doingThis role is focused on:Writing robust backend and frontend code with unit and feature testsTackling real-world problems, leading initiatives from discovery through to delivery, and owning the technical architecture and executionBalancing trade-offs between ideal architecture and shipping fast, making pragmatic decisionsClearly communicating project status to stakeholders through written and/or verbal updatesWriting excellent technical documentation when needed, communicating ideas and problems effectivelyConducting technical spikes to validate new approaches and identify limitations or bottlenecks earlyMonitoring post-launch metrics using tools like DataDog, and triaging or resolving bugs quicklyEnabling other team members through reusable libraries or shared internal toolsYoure probably a match ifYou have 25 years of professional experience as a software engineerYou have strong computer science fundamentals and programming knowledge relating to data structures and algorithms, a formal degree is advantageous but not strictly necessaryYou have a solid grasp of web application architecture and how the internet works under the hoodYou have meaningful experience building, consuming and documenting APIsYoure curious and resourceful when learning new technologies or debugging tricky issues, you dont need to be told what to do but you know the right time to ask for helpYou are a strong communicatorWhy youll love it hereOur entire tech team are hands-on programmers.
