The Role:Cooper Grace Ward is excited to be extending an opportunity fora senior Tax Lawyer to join our leading tax and tax disputes teamwithin the Commercial and Private Client workgroup. You will havethe opportunity to assist clients with a broad range of GST, taxand revenue matters by providing practical advice and managingdisputes with the Australian Tax Office and Queensland RevenueOffice. Your contribution will be recognised and rewarded withcareer progression encouraged and supported under the mentorship ofindustry-recognised senior leadership.The variety of work you will do includes:Advising on a range of GST, tax, and revenue mattersObjecting to ATO and QRO assessments for tax andpenaltiesAssisting clients with responding to ATO and QRO reviewsand auditsPreparing direct and indirect tax sharing agreements,employee share schemes, facility agreements and agreements withservice entitiesManaging appeals of ATO and QRO decisions in the AAT, QCAT,Federal and Supreme CourtPreparing commercial transaction documents and commercialagreements including share sale agreements, companyconstitutions and trust deedsRequirements:3+ years PAE with previous experience in tax lawOutstanding interpersonal, verbal, and writtencommunication skillsA keen eye for detail and the ability to consistentlyproduce accurate, high quality workDedication to the excellence and delivery of outstandingclient serviceA genuine interest in Tax LawDesire to strengthen and build client relationships tocontinually contribute to the growth and success of thefirmAbility to work autonomously and assist with providingguidance to junior team members5-star Employer of Choice 2025 by HRDAustralia and Australasian Lawyer and 2025 Beaton Client ChoiceAward winners for Best Australian Law Firm, BestProfessional Services Firm, Most Innovative Law & RelatedServices Firm, and Most Trusted Law & Related ServicesFirm.
