OverviewOur client is looking for Principal Geotechnical Engineer in both Open Cut and/or Underground Mining Operations.You will report to the Manager of Geotechnical Services, working as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to provide geotechnical support for our clients both locally and internationally.ResponsibilitiesLeading geotechnical studies for mining operations, to ensure geotechnical risks are effectively identified, managed and controlledOverseeing geotechnical input into both short & long-term production planning and scheduling processesData analysis, geotechnical design and continuous improvement activitiesProviding guidance to the engineering team responsible for the day-to-day operations, including open pit or underground assessments when/where requiredDeveloping and mentoring junior engineersQualifications & ExperienceA degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Mining Engineering or Geology is required with relevant post graduate education relating to Geomechanics or Geotechnical Engineering (essential)RPEQ and AusIMM (CP) preferredAt least 15 years design and site operational experience in a geotechnical engineering role within the resource sector.Preferably both Open Pit and Underground experienced, with various mining methods, backfill and geotechnical conditionsCapability with geotechnical engineering software (i.e. Vulcan, Deswik, Rocscience suite and Map3D)Personal AttributesDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including management, technical professionals and operational personnel at all levelsThe drive to become a consultant an expert in your fieldPrevious track record in building credibility within the local mining industryExcellent interpersonal and technical report writing skillsStrong analytical ability and strategic capability #J-18808-Ljbffr
