As our operations grow, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to support our financial and compliance functions.Position DescriptionThe Accountant will play a key role in managing the financial activities of the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with taxation obligations, and effective internal control systems. The role involves supporting both operational and strategic financial decision-making within a fast-paced home care environment.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Preparing and analysing financial statements and management reportsAssisting in formulating and reviewing budgetary policies, forecasts, and cost-control strategiesManaging and ensuring compliance with ATO and regulatory tax requirements, including BAS, PAYG, and payroll taxPreparing and lodging income tax returns, financial statements, and other statutory documentationSupporting NDIS-related financial reporting and funding reconciliationsExamining financial operations, income and expenses, and advising on business performanceEnsuring financial records comply with relevant legislation and accounting standardsMaintaining and monitoring internal control systems and recommending improvementsAssisting with payroll processes, superannuation compliance, and employee expense trackingLiaising with external accountants, auditors, banks, and stakeholders as requiredSupporting the business in maintaining robust financial reporting systems (e.g., Xero or MYOB)QualificationsSkills & Experience RequiredA bachelors degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or a related fieldMinimum of 1-year relevant post-qualification experienceKnowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation legislation, and payroll systemsStrong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and meet strict deadlinesHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityCPA/CA qualification (completed or in progress) is desirablePreferred Skills- Excellent time management and strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy.- Experience with company bookkeeping and BAS lodgements.- Experience with XERO.- Knowledge of SCHADS and Nurses Awards (Desirable).- Demonstrated ability to use or willingness to learn workforce scheduling and financial software, e.g., Visual Care.- Bank statement and credit card reconciliation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
