Job OverviewBeekeeping Australia is currently seeking an experienced Beekeeper to join its team in Kingaroy. The successful candidate will work for a large commercial apiary at a range of sites throughout QLD and NSW (currently all in QLD). We pride ourselves on using industry best equipment and practices and can offer experience and up skill opportunities to beekeepers. The position is full time, working 38 hours per week, plus overtime as required.ResponsibilitiesRemoving honey cropsBreeding new colonies and maintaining a healthy bee population, including the breeding and management of queen beesMonitoring and managing hive hygiene and bee health, including pest identification and removalManaging removal and relocation of hives, including biosecurity and logistical requirementsExtraction of honey and other bee productsManaging food safety and quality assurance matters, ensuring all operations adhere to the industry code of conductHive maintenance and construction of new hivesQualifications35 years of commercial beekeeping experiencePrevious experience working in an operation of more than 400 hivesUnderstanding of pollination requirements of a range of plants including canola, Faber beans, macadamias, avocados and almondsAbility to work weekends and also away for a week at a time, and occasionally two weeks in peak season depending on the location of the hivesCapacity to undertake heavy manual tasks, including lifting and carryingCertificate III in beekeeping would be an advantageHC or HR vehicle licenceForklift, bobcat and chainsaw tickets preferredAbility to work as part of a team, or independently when neededExperience shifting beehives with HR or HC vehiclesThere are currently full time and casual positions available with our team, so please specify which you would like with your application.Australian and international applications may be accepted; please note that employment for international applicants will be subject to current Australian visa conditions.All Beekeeping Australia employees are subject to our Drug and Alcohol Policy and may be subject to undertaking random and targeted drug and alcohol testing from time to time.Recruitment ProcessAll applications must include a resume (CV) and a cover letter explaining why you would like to join our team and how you would benefit the team.If you are interested in joining our team then please send a copy of your resume and cover letter to: ***********@hotmail.com #J-18808-Ljbffr
