Senior Windows Server and VMware Engineer Location: Darwin, NT. The Senior Server Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing the organisation''s server operating system environments to ensure the stability, performance, resilience and security of server environments hosting IT and Operational Technology workloads. The Senior Server Engineer will provide specialist Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware administration services as part of a team to build, manage and maintain the Darwin based organisation''s applicationhosting environment. Responsibilities Design, implement and maintain Windows Server and Active Directory environments in support of migrating workloads to a new Active Directory Forest in a sensitive and highavailability environment, following all relevant policies and procedures. Design, implement and maintain VMware virtualisation infrastructure. Implement security remediation and uplift in accordance with requirements. Implement and utilise various monitoring, vulnerability, and fault analysis tools to troubleshoot and optimise operating environments. Install, customise, and maintain Windows server operating systems and server hardware to meet client needs and in accordance with service level expectations. Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems in consultation with clients, staff, external service providers and vendors. Create documentation to support the operating environments, including architecture and asbuiltasconfigured documentation. Work closely with the organisation''s stakeholders and systems owners across multidisciplinary teams. Carry out duties in accordance with safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values and strategies. Criteria Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing and managing Windows Server and Active Directory in accordance with Microsoft and ASD recommendations. Minimum 57 years of handson experience with Windows Server and Active Directory implementation and management is required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience performing Active Directory migrations in highavailability environments. Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing and managing VMware virtualisation infrastructure in accordance with VMware and ASD recommendations. Minimum 57 years of experience with VMware virtualisation infrastructure implementation and management is required. High attention to detail with good communication skills with stakeholders and clients, and experienced in technical writing. Ability to carry out duties in accordance with the Darwin based organisation''s safety, environmental and quality policies and corporate values and strategies. Sound understanding of Information Management Infrastructure Library (ITIL). Familiarity with operational technology environments and their unique constraints (SCADA, DCS, PLC). Industry certifications or equivalents: AZ800 & AZ801 / MCSA / MCSE / VCPDCV. Job Details Estimated start date: Mon 23 Feb 2026 Term: 12 months Location of work: Darwin Working arrangements: Onsite.
