NT Department of Health Tennant Creek NT Administrative Officer 3 - Remuneration Package Range $78,997 - $84,880 (including salary $66,773 - $71,746) Allied Health Tennant Creek Hospital Location: Tennant Creek Fixed vacancy for 6 months The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course. The Tennant Creek Hospital is a 20-bed hospital that services the Barkly region, including assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with short-term illnesses and injuries. The hospital also includes a 16-chair renal unit which provides a dialysis service to patients. Role Overview As an Aboriginal Liaison Officer, you will provide language services, cultural brokerage, education, advocacy and support to Aboriginal patients, families and staff at Tennant Creek Hospital. Responsibilities Your key role is to support the delivery of culturally appropriate and safe healthcare services to Aboriginal patients and their families. Duties include maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of patients, participating in the training of hospital staff on cross-cultural issues, management and decision making, and working collectively on team projects. Qualifications To be successful you require experience interfacing between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people, have a good understanding of cross-cultural issues and be capable of prioritising your own workload.
