Aurizon is offering an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in rail through our Operational Maintainer (Rail Shunter) Traineeship in West Kalgoorlie. As a trainee, youll be part of a structured program where youll gain practical, handson experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification in rail operations (shunting). Youll work alongside experienced team members in a fastpaced environment, developing the skills needed to build a longterm career with Australias largest rail freight operator. What youll be doing: Undertaking both classroom and onthejob training Safely loading and unloading customer products Inspecting rollingstock and carrying out minor repairs Performing brake tests on trains Assisting with shunting and marshalling operations Communicating effectively with depot personnel via radio and in person About you: Were looking for individuals with: C Class Drivers Licence (mandatory) A strong commitment to safety Mechanical aptitude and problemsolving skills Flexibility to work day and night shifts (up to 12 hours), including weekends Please note that all applicants will be required to undergo psychometric testing, a drug and alcohol test and carry out a criminal history check!
