Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeA$110,266.00/yr - A$122,058.00/yrClerk Grade: DCS Clerk Grade 7/8 ($110,266 to $122,058 base salary per annum + superannuation and annual leave loading)Employment Type: Temporary full time opportunity until June 2026 (potential to extension)Location: Flexible working arrangements available across NSW, with some travel to Sydney metro locations required from time to time (negotiable)This role sits within the Digital NSW Division in the Government Technology Platforms teamAbout the teamWe are now inviting applications for the opportunity of Product Engineer for Government Technology Platforms, within Digital NSW as it transforms to become the state''s trusted partner to enable accessible and secure digital platforms and services for the citizens and business of NSW.In this role, you will be responsible for the build and deployment of high-quality, reliable, reusable and maintainable ICT / Digital systems and/or networks to support the delivery of strategic objectives for the Organisation and/or partner agencies.Your day-to-dayAttending agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review to provide overview and insights on working being delivered as a part of a multi-disciplinary Product TeamParticipate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code is delivered across the engineer chapter, ensuring reuseable and scalable code is producedDeliver and execute on delivery of code that support the delivery of All of Government products and servicesTo be successful in this role you will demonstrate:Experience in end-to-end product development, ensuring high-quality delivery through the build, release, maintenance, and enhancement of thoroughly tested and optimised features.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver valuable software aligned with the organization''s ICT/Digital strategyExperience in design and iterative testing of products/systems to ensure compliance with standards, enhancing code quality and reducing operational riskExperience in enhancing developer practices to drive high performance in ICT/Digital product and system development, while managing technology changes to optimise outcomes in line with organisational and government priorities.Experience in optimising system requirements for enhanced efficiency, security, and customer-oriented ICT/Digital capabilities.Experience (2 years +) with SQL queries, SQL programming (database procedures/functions), and database developmentExperience with systems integration, APIs (Web services, RESTful, SOAP, with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab, SVN) including managing repositories, branching strategies, and conducting code reviews.Proactive engagement with stakeholders to refine business requirements and acceptance criteria, driving alignment with project goalsCommunication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and relatable manner, ensuring shared understanding of project objectivesPerforming Proof of Concepts for feasibility of solutionsGroovy / Java scripting experience highly desirable but not essentialAmanda experience highly desirable but not essentialSalary Grade 07/08, with the base salary for this role starting at $110,266 base plus superannuationClick Here to access the Role Description.For enquiries relating to recruitment, please contact Swathy Mohan via [email protected] enquiries about the role, please contact Vanita Suman via [email protected] the Capability Application Tool to prepare for the recruitment process by accessing practice application and interview questions based on the focus capabilities listed in the role description.Closing Date: 09:59 am, 04 Jul 2025Careers at Department of Customer ServiceA career at the Department of Customer Service (DCS) gives you the opportunity to help improve government services and be part of reform that benefits people across NSW.
